Due to the corona situation – Sturm-Fankurve is discontinuing organized support

A big step in times of the pandemic: As the Sturm Graz fan clubs announced on Thursday, they will cease organized support from the next home game on Sunday against LASK. On the one hand because of the lack of predictability due to constantly new rules, on the other hand out of consideration for the current health crisis.

Even the introduction of the 2G rule – only vaccinated and convalescent people are allowed into the stadium more – posed challenges for the black and white fan scene, as stated in an open communiqué by the fan groups. But it was “decided that we want to continue to get the best out of our team even under these difficult circumstances, as long as the conditions for organized support in the stadium are in place.” Since then, the circumstances have changed massively. “There is no way of planning, neither for home games nor for away games can a statement be made much longer than a few hours in advance about which rules will apply locally at the time of the game.” weigh much more heavily: “We see our responsibility for the community in the curve, yes, we see a responsibility for society in general. We cannot and do not want to dictate to any Schwoazen how to behave in the pandemic. For our part, however, we do not want to put on a show and have a party in the stadium unmolested while our hats are burning in the hospitals. In the current exceptional situation, it would hardly be reconcilable with our conscience if we made sure that we screamed our hearts out side by side in the usual manner. ”They don’t want to tell fans how to behave in the stadium but take a leading role in the curve as fan groups. Attention is now directed to the “Schwoaze Help” campaign, which is due to start on Sunday. Further information will be announced on Saturday.
