At the very end, Carlos Alcaraz made it a bit exciting: After dominating Stefanos Tsitsipas from A to Z for around 100 minutes, the scoreboard showed a 6: 2, 6: 1, 5: 2, 40:15. But the almost flawless Spaniard could not use his 2 match points when the Greek served and was broken for the first time that evening a few minutes later when he was able to serve to win the match.

The game win to 4: 5 gave Tsitsipas an upswing. He fended off a match point again and then reached the tie-break without any major problems. But in the quick decision, Alcaraz forced his opponent back into his game and pulled away to 4:1 and later to 6:3. The 20-year-old was not able to use the match points 4 and 5, but with the 6th chance the amazing youngster made everything clear after 2:12 hours at the net.

The reward is the semi-final hit against 22-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic.
