Part one is in the cinema, part two is confirmed – and if it is up to “Dune” director Denis Villeneuve, it doesn’t have to end.
The second part of Denis Villeneuves (54) film adaptation of the novel “Dune” has only just been officially confirmed – the question of the possibility of a third film already arises. The director had said a few months ago that he would like to make a trilogy out of the material.

Paul Atreides is portrayed in Villeneuve’s film adaptation by Timothée Chalamet (25). The second “Dune” part is due to hit theaters at the end of October 2023.
All six books as films? Unlikely.
Altogether there are even six books by the author Frank Herbert (1920-1986), which revolve around the “Dune” cosmos. The film series will probably not consist of six parts. “The more he wrote, the more psychedelic it got,” said Villeneuve of it. “So I don’t know how some of them could be made into a film.”
“One at a time. If I ever get the chance to do ‘Dune: Part Two’ and ‘Dune Messiah’, I’ll be blessed.” Half of this dream is now in the planning stage.
