Dupont de Ligonnès affair: these strange coincidences with the Troadec affair

Six years separate the Dupont de Ligonnès affair from the Troadec affair, and yet the similarities are numerous and disturbing. In addition to having taken place in a close geographical area, they have several points in common.

Between April 3 and 5, 2011, Agnès Dupont de Ligonnès and her children Arthur, Anne, Benoît and Thomas, as well as their two dogs, were murdered in their house in Nantes. Six years later, the Troadec couple and their two children were killed on the night of February 16 to 17, 2017 in Orvault, just a few minutes from Nantes. The fact that two families are entirely decimated in the same geographical area echoes this. Only, the similarities are even more numerous. “From the outset, this affair echoed that of the Dupont de Ligonnès. There are indeed many commonalities.“, had declared Jean-Michel Laurence, co-author of works on the two criminal episodes.

The ages of the deceased are almost the same : 49 years old for Pascal and Brigitte Troadec, 50 and 48 years old for Xavier and Agnès Dupont de Ligonnès, 20 and 18 years old for Sébastien and Charlotte Troadec, 21 and 18 years old for Arthur and Thomas Dupont de Ligonnès. One of the Troadec children attended the same private high school as one of the Dupont de Ligonnès children. Both families were known to be rather low-key and uneventful.

The same items disappeared from both homes

But that’s not all. “The same disappearances of objects are reported, in particular computers without their connectors left behind. In both cases, an entry key was found outside, in the mailbox at the Troadecs, in an EDF box at the Dupont de Ligonnès“, continued Jean-Michel Laurence. The two alleged perpetrators, Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès for one and Hubert Caouissin for the other, tried to cover their tracks. In both cases, the police also “8 to 10 days behind the perpetrator” on the run. A delay that allowed the first to flee and still be untraceable today. Finally, in both cases, there would be a family secret at the origin of the dramas.
