Dying Light 2: how to play co-op with friends

Doing parkour, fighting for survival, and fighting the infected in Dying Light 2 is great, but doing it with friends is even better! Here’s how to play COOP with your friends.

After waiting for many months, players were finally able to get their hands on the second installment of Dying Light this Friday, February 4, 2022. While it was originally due for release in 2021, the least we can say is that players were eager to come face to face with the infected again.

Luckily, for those who don’t want to go through this experience alone, like its predecessor, Dying Light 2 has a co-op mode that allows players to progress side-by-side.

Dying Light 2 can be played co-op after completing the prologue.

However, before you can enjoy it, you will still have to make your first solo debut. Indeed, the cooperation mode is only unlocked once the prologue is over.

How to play with friends on Dying Light 2?

First of all, make sure that the people you want to play with are on the same platform as you. You will then have to finish the prologue before you can get down to business, which will allow you, among other things, to familiarize yourself with the mechanics of Dying Light 2.

After that, just follow the steps below, and you’ll be building your team in no time:

  • Go to the menu and select the Online Menu
  • Next, navigate to access Online Options
  • Select an option other than Solo
  • Return to the menu and you will now see 3 open invite slots next to your character.
  • Invite your friends and wait for them to join your lobby.

As a reminder, just like the first installment of the franchise, Dying Light 2’s co-op mode only supports up to 4 players in a single party.

Although it is not mandatory to have so many allies on your side, it will certainly help you to survive the infected that you will meet and to face the night with complete peace of mind, or almost.
