Dying Light: 20 million games sold for the first opus and already 5 million for its sequel

After having developed a lot of diverse and varied games, including the nice ones Call of Juarez, Techland launched in 2011 Dead Island, an action and horror game with zombies. The studio took over the principle by improving it and adding parkour to give birth in 2015 Dying Lightthen a sequel at the start of the year.

Today, Techland takes stock of the sales of these two games, and he has something to rub his hands. We thus learn that Dying Light, first of the name, has sold more than 20 million copies on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Regarding the sequel, as a reminder, it already had three million copies sold in one weekend, the figure has changed and as of February 28, four weeks after its launch, Dying Light 2 Stay Human recorded 5 million copies sold, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The studio is pleased, its CEO Paweł Marchewka says:

The success of the Dying Light franchise is a prime example of the unforgettable experiences we create for our players.

Techland take this opportunity to mention that this sequel has received more than 230,000 reviews on Steam, “overwhelmingly positive”.
