E-bike for under 1,000 euros on eBay: Long range, solid features and a small catch

If you’re smart, start hunting for a new e-bike a few weeks before the start of the cycling season. The prices are currently still really good – but that is likely to change quickly when it gets sunnier and warmer. That’s why it’s best to go on a shopping spree now. If you are looking for a particularly inexpensive e-bike and are primarily traveling in the flatlands, you will find a good deal on eBay.

The e-bike has 28-inch rims and a front wheel motor from Bafang is used as the motor, which supports you with up to 32 Newton meters. This is comparatively weak, but is completely sufficient in flatlands or slightly hilly regions. However, you should avoid mountain tours by bike, as the battery is a bit weak.

The bike scores points with its 522 watt-hour battery, which should provide a range of up to 140 kilometers. Although there are no disc brakes, only rim brakes, there is a coaster brake – not a given given the low price.

The 7-speed gears come from Shimano, and the handlebars are variably adjustable. There is also a suspension fork and a comfort saddle. Pushing assistance and a lighting system complete the whole thing.

For a price of under 1,000 euros, you get a simple but solid overall package. The only major negative point is the weak engine, but that only plays a role if you have steeper climbs ahead of you. Otherwise, you get an inexpensive everyday bike for short tours, excursions or shopping – the existing bike basket is also a practical thing here.
