(CercleFinance.com) – E.ON and its employees are financing the construction of a school in the Turkish city of Hatay, which was massively destroyed by earthquakes in February 2023.

Immediately after the earthquakes, the company launched a fundraising project in which many E.ON units and employees participated.

The new building includes eight classrooms for a total of 240 children and will be completed in early 2024.

E.ON’s Turkish subsidiary EnerjiSA and its employees decided to use the donation amount of more than 1.1 million euros.

Victoria Ossadnik, E.ON Board Member, said: ‘The enormous scale of the disaster has massively affected many of our customers, colleagues and their families. With the construction of the new school, we want to support local families by making regular lessons possible for the children.’
