Jack, a distraught monkey, has escaped from his owners’ home. He manhandled a neighbor before being killed.
A monkey that escaped from its owner’s home was panicked and attacked a neighborslapped a man before finishing shot. Jack is a pet monkey living in his owners’ home in the town of Dickson, Oklahoma. On Sunday March 12, the primate escaped from its owner’s house, reports Vanity Fair. The monkey then went to the door of a neighbor, Brittany Parker, the one who will end up with a torn ear.
Brittany Parker sees the monkey on her doorstep on the evening of March 12. The maddened monkey “rushed to one side of my porch and banged the glass trying to get in”, says the future victim. Feeling unsafe, Brittany called 911, but once they got there, the police didn’t respond right away. They called the Oklahoma Wildlife Department, reports the Vanity Fair citing Business Insider. The primate panics as soon as the police arrive and jump on their vehicle.
The monkey tore his ear as one tears a sheet of paper
As if taken mad, Jack the monkey then jumps on Brittany Parker. “He ran behind my back and jumped on my head, tore my hair out, then tore the ear in half like you would a piece of paper”, says the victim. Jack wouldn’t calm down even with the intervention of his owners. As the police searched for him, shots rang out. They come from the neighborhood of the victim’s residence, said Tim Duncan, Dickson’s police chief. “Officers returned to the house and found that a family member of the victim had shot and killed the primate”, explains the police chief. Brittany comes out of it not without trauma and especially with 187 stitches.
