  • An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale in Germany was also felt in northern Switzerland during the night of Thursday.
  • The epicenter of the earthquake was in the southern German municipality of Schopfheim, about 17 kilometers from the Swiss border municipality of Laufenburg.

The earthquake occurred shortly after 3 a.m., according to the ETH Zurich seismological service. It was felt in large parts of northern Switzerland. The seismological service has received dozens of reports from Rheinfelden, Liestal and Schaffhausen, among others.
