  • Travelers heading south will have to be patient on Good Friday: the Gotthard Tunnel is currently closed in both directions due to a broken down vehicle.
  • On Friday morning, traffic was backed up for 10 kilometers between Erstfeld and Göschenen.
  • Drivers must expect a time loss of one hour and 40 minutes, according to the Touring Club Switzerland (TCS).
  • In the run-up to Easter, the Federal Roads Office (Astra) advised against leaving the motorway in traffic jams. The alternative traffic puts a strain on the population in towns along the national roads. In addition, the risk of accidents increases.
