In Sinabelkirchen, eastern Styria, a residential building and an adjacent farm building were on fire on Saturday evening. More than 100 firefighters were on duty. No one was injured and the cause of the fire is still unclear.
On Saturday evening, a column of smoke was visible from far away over Egelsdorf-Berg in the municipality of Sinabelkirchen. At around 6 p.m., neighbors alerted the fire department because a residential building and outbuildings were on fire. The homeowner was not at home. 13 fire departments with over 100 emergency services responded and fought the flames. Despite intensive extinguishing work, the fire kept reigniting, so that the fire department had no choice but to let the buildings burn down in a controlled manner. According to police, no one was injured and the cause of the fire and the amount of damage are not yet known.
