When “the current situation” or “the new reality” is mentioned again. When economic, political, social conflicts threaten. Or when the ceiling simply falls on your head. Then it’s good to look out the window at the parking lot. Where your getaway vehicle is.

The ideal getaway vehicle always depends on the intended purpose. It doesn’t have to be a monster that costs a hundred thousand euros if there’s a risk of getting stranded in a traffic jam in front of the bridge.

Of course, large mobile homes, campervans and off-road trailers offer every imaginable comfort. But it needs space. Parking a 12-metre mobile in the forest and hiding it from prying or even envious, covetous looks is much more difficult than is the case with a compact trailer with a pop-up tent.
Many overnight and camp sites are inaccessible with large vehicles from the outset. Then maybe only public parking spaces, campsites or a farmer’s property remain as an alternative – and with that you become dependent on others.

Still, an ideal getaway vehicle should cover your basic needs. You need a warm bed, something warm in your stomach and should have the opportunity to wash yourself.
