The ecological bonus granted in the event of the acquisition of a 100% electric car is maintained at € 6,000 on January 1, 2022. Originally, it was to be reduced to € 5,000.
January 1 always rhymes with changes in legislation. Regarding the ecological bonus granted to those who acquire an electric car, it was initially planned that it be revised downwards. Good news: in a press release published in October 2021, the Public Service announced the extension of the amounts allocated since July 1.
For the ecological bonus, the next deadline will therefore take place on July 1, 2022, the date from which it will be less attractive. In the meantime, we take stock of what is possible to obtain depending on the 100% electric vehicle we intend to acquire.
Up to € 6,000 for 100% electric cars
From € 7,000, the maximum ecological bonus granted for a 100% electric car has increased to € 6,000 since July 1, 2021. And it will remain the same until June 30, 2022, after which it will drop again by 1,000 €.
The levels are always the same:
- € 6,000 for cars under € 45,000 (options included);
- € 2,000 for cars priced between € 45,000 and € 60,000 (options included);
- Nothing for cars priced above € 60,000 (options included).
Note that the ecological bonus cannot exceed 27% of the price of the vehicle. For used cars (at least 2 years), the bonus is € 1,000.
For plug-in hybrid vehicles meeting the three criteria (price less than € 50,000, CO2 rate between 21 and 50 g / km, range greater than 50 kilometers), the bonus is also € 1,000. There will be no more after July 1, 2022.

What bonus for electric scooters and motorcycles?
It is always possible to benefit from an ecological bonus in the event of the acquisition of a 100% electric scooter or motorcycle. It is indexed to the power of the two-wheeler, as follows:
- € 100, or 20% of the acquisition cost, for a vehicle whose power is less than 2 kW;
- € 250 per kWh of battery energy, or 27% of the acquisition cost, for a vehicle with a power greater than 2 kW (€ 900 maximum).
To this bonus can be added a subsidy granted by the region. For example, the City of Nice offers an additional premium, the amount of which can go up to € 400. Also, you are a self-employed person, the bonus can go up to more than 1,500 €.
Some examples :
Vehicle | Price | Price with bonus deducted |
---|---|---|
Silence S01 Plus | € 7,990 | € 7,090 |
Niu NQI Sport | € 2,599 | € 2,499 |
What about electric bikes?
The ecological bonus linked to electric bikes depends on the possible aid paid by your local authority. It is a complement, not a substitute.
The amount is also the same, within the limit of € 200, and does not depend on the price of the bike.
To benefit from it, you must:
- To be of age ;
- Be domiciled in France;
- Have a benchmark tax income of less than € 13,489;
- Have received assistance from the local authority.
In Paris, the aid climbs to € 400, which means that the ecological bonus can be € 200 if you are eligible.
