Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni robot vacuum cleaner: the innovation of the hot water station

Ecovacs enriches its catalog with the Deebot T20 Omni. Like most current models, this robot vacuum cleaner promises to wash the floor in addition to vacuuming it, a function that seems to concentrate the bulk of the novelties compared to its predecessors in the Deebot range. Note also that the Deebot T20 is not only positioned above the Deebot T10 Turbo, but also above the Deebot X1 Omni, the former flagship of the manufacturer which had so far kept the exclusivity of the detection system. of obstacles combining camera and laser: TrueDetect 3D 3.0. It is therefore found on this new model, just like the TrueMapping 2.0 system responsible for mapping using the laser rangefinder on the top.

Liftable mops…

The Deebot T20 Omni promises a tenfold suction power – 6000 Pa announced, against 5000 for the X1 and 3000 for the T10 – but also and above all an improved washing function. He is equipped with two small round mops that he can spin up to 180 rpm, lifting them when he passes over a rug or carpet to avoid soaking them. It is certainly not new on the market, but it is a first at Ecovacs. The latest Deebot can thus wash and vacuum the house in a single pass. However, it is also possible to ask it to vacuum only, but just wash, as with the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra which surprised us by its efficiency in this mode. So hopefully the Deebot T20 Omni will be just as effective. Its true innovation, however, is rather to be found on the side of the station that accompanies it.

…and hot water to keep them clean

We now know: Omni is at Ecovacs synonymous with a multifunction station, with waste collection and washing of mops. That of the Deebot T20, however, has the particularity of being able to heat the water up to 55°C to wash the mops, and thus promises greater efficiency, especially on greasy stains. Since robots generally wash their mops before scrubbing the floor, it is not impossible that this hot water will also improve the cleaning of the floor for a short time, although this is probably not the idea. At the end of the cycle, the station can also use hot air to speed up the drying of the mops, and thus limit the development of bacteria and the odors that go with it.

The Deebot T20 Omni thus benefits from one of the most sophisticated stations, if not the most sophisticated, on the market. It is also one of the largest due to the large capacity of the tanks provided there: 4 liters for clean and dirty water, and 3 liters for dust. He should thus be able to work alone for several days, but it is always preferable not to wait until the dirty water tank is full to empty it, otherwise you will be exposed to unpleasant odors.

The Deebot T20 Omni should be available from May 16 at the recommended retail price of €1,099, Ecovacs mentioning a promotional offer which remains to be detailed, however. We will obviously be sure to update this article as soon as we know more.
