Ecovac’s Goat G2

The Ecovacs Goat G1 mows your lawn without a boundary wire. On this page we collect all the rumors about the next generation of the coveted robot lawn mower for you.

Will the Ecovacs Goat G2 also have a futuristic design? (pictured: Ecovac’s Goat G1)

Actually, Ecovacs is known for vacuum and floor mopping robots. Among the products there is even a robot that can clean your window for you. With this expertise, the company has now ventured into a robotic lawnmower. Ecovac’s Goat G1 was able to convince us in the test with its mowing performance, even if the technology used sometimes requires a lot of transmission masts.

The Goat G1 does not work with boundary cables, but with cameras for obstacle detection and transmission masts with which the robotic lawnmower determines its position on the lawn. In doing so, the company has used a fair amount of its experience with other robots to bring the newly launched product to the market, which is also reflected in the good device app. It is very likely that Ecovacs is already working on a successor.

When will the Ecovacs Goat G2 be released?

It is at least possible that the Ecovacs Goat G2 will appear as early as 2024. Since the company hasn’t released any robotic lawn mowers before, we can’t really estimate the approximate release timeline. With its vacuum robots, however, the company works with an annual publication rhythm. For example, the Deebot T9 came out in 2021 and was replaced by the T10 models in 2022. It remains to be seen whether this will also be the case with the high-end robotic lawnmower Goat G2 or whether the robot will remain up-to-date for a longer period of time.

How much will the Ecovacs Goat G2 cost?

At 1,599 euros, the Ecovacs Goat G1 is one of the higher-priced robotic lawnmowers. There are also costs for replacement blades and, depending on the lawn size, more transmission masts. A price increase cannot be ruled out, even if Ecovacs could try to keep the price stable for the successor model as well.

The robotic lawnmower should be able to do that

The successor will certainly also rely on transmission masts as technology. However, some things could be improved. If we had our way there would be improvements to the camera and a way to turn off the LED on the charging dock. Perhaps the company will also find a way to reduce the number of transmission towers required.

Improvements in the maximum height of the lawn before you have to do it yourself or the battery life would also be possible.

Until the formal presentation of the Ecovacs Goat G2, you should therefore view the information with a certain skepticism.
