EDF: agreement with Fortum for nuclear projects


(CercleFinance.com) – EDF and Fortum sign a cooperation agreement for the development of new nuclear projects in Finland and Sweden.

This agreement marks the intention of EDF and Fortum to study cooperation opportunities around the development of new nuclear power plants based on EPRs and small modular reactors (SMR NUWARD™).

According to Vakis Ramany, Vice-President, in charge of nuclear development at EDF, “Thanks to Fortum’s remarkable history as a responsible nuclear operator and to EDF’s unequaled experience over the entire nuclear cycle, we we will create opportunities for beneficial cooperation for Finland, Sweden and all of Europe.”
