(CercleFinance.com) – Arkema and Nippon Shokubai American Industries (NAII), via their American Acryl joint venture in Bayport, Texas, are strengthening their commitment to accelerating the decarbonization of energy sources by concluding a contract with EDF Energy Services to long-term purchase of electricity intended to cover 100% of their annual energy consumption by wind energy.
EDF Renewables North America, a subsidiary of the EDF group, will supply the American Acryl Bayport site with renewable wind energy from part of its King Creek Wind Farm 1 wind farm, located in Texas.
“This agreement concretizes our commitments to reduce our GHG emissions by 46% by 2030 compared to 2019,” says Richard Rennard, president of the acrylic monomers division for the Americas at Arkema.
