EDPR: Winner of CRE’s latest wind power call for tenders

(CercleFinance.com) – EDP Renewables (EDPR) announces that it is among the winners of the latest wind power tender from the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE), securing more than 35 MW of installed capacity to be deployed in the years to come.

EDPR has been awarded a 20-year Contract for Difference (CfD) for two projects: the Sceaux wind farm (to be developed in Normandy) and the Grands Bails wind farm (to be built in Hauts de France).

The Sceaux Project (29.4 MW), made up of seven wind turbines, will be installed in the municipalities of Londinières and Wanchy-Capval in Seine-Maritime. It will prevent the emission of more than 25,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. EDP Renewables plans to commission this project by 2025.

The Grands Bails project, with a capacity of 3.45 MW, will be located in the commune of Montloué, in the Aisne department. Thanks to this project, more than 4,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions will be avoided each year.

The attribution of these projects to EDPR follows a call for tenders initially concerning 925 MW but which finally reached more than 1.1 GW, showing the dynamics of the French market towards the energy transition.
