(CercleFinance.com) – Eiffage announces that it has been awarded by the State for the innovative solutions presented by its subsidiary Eiffage Route as part of the 2022 edition of the call for innovation projects ‘Roads and Streets’ dedicated this year to the challenges of the ecological transition of the road.
In partnership with Gustave Eiffel University, Eiffage had presented the solution of ‘coated materials with optimized rolling resistance’, developed to reduce rolling resistance (estimated in the order of 10%), while maintaining a level high security.
The purpose of this new solution is to act on scope 3 downstream, by targeting a reduction in CO2 emissions generated by rolling resistance.
The distinguished innovation will therefore now be able to be the subject of experimentation protocols with contracting authorities wishing to test it on their territories. The mixes used will be monitored for 3 to 5 years by Cerema in order to validate their performance and durability.
