The landmark of Paris opens: From June 25, visitors to the Eiffel Tower will be able to climb high again – but on foot.
The Eiffel Tower in Paris opens again on June 25th. After a three-month Corona break, visitors should be able to look over the roofs of the city again. But not everything is as it is, because some corona requirements still have to be followed.
For example, the elevators to the observation decks remain closed for the time being; they will only start operating again on July 1st. That's how long tourists have to climb the 704 steps on foot. You don't necessarily have to be a sports cannon, but you should take into account that the ascent to the 2nd floor takes between 30 and 45 minutes. The third floor remains closed for the time being.
Nothing works without a mask
So that a certain level of protection is still guaranteed in the Corona crisis, the ascent is via the east pillar, then down via the west pillar. There are further safety precautions to protect tourists: All visitors over the age of 11 must wear protective masks. The number of daily visitors is also limited. Publicly accessible areas are cleaned and disinfected daily.
If you want to feast luxuriously and with a magnificent view, you have to wait until June 30th. Only then will the "Jules Vernes" on the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower open.
