Eight injured – heavy head-on collision in Pongau

Eight people were injured in a frontal crash on the B311 on Tuesday morning, two of them seriously. Pinzgauer Strasse has now been reopened.

According to information from the Red Cross, two cars crashed into each other. One person was seriously injured and seven were slightly injured. A total of three ambulances and an ambulance were on duty. Despite poor visibility, a 32-year-old Pongauer is said to have overtaken the vehicle in front of him. The man overlooked an oncoming minibus in which six Romanians were. The driver and one of five women were seriously injured in the accident. The B311 was blocked in both directions between Einöden and St. Johann until just before 7 a.m. The injured went to the Schwarzach hospital. Because of the flood-related situation, there was no way of bypassing the road, and an extensive traffic jam formed.
