National coach Nagelsmann sees no goals at Premiere

Before the eyes of national coach Julian Nagelsmann, the game between Frankfurt and Freiburg got heated late on. But in front of the gates, the two Bundesliga clubs rely on minimalism. The deals are not very purposeful, both clubs are stuck in midfield.
Still unbeaten, but again no victory: the draw kings of Eintracht Frankfurt are standing still in the Bundesliga. Three days after their opening win in the Conference League, the Hessians had to make do with a disappointing 0-0 draw against SC Freiburg and are stuck in the middle of the table due to their fourth league draw in a row.
The SGE remained undefeated in the ninth competitive game under coach Dino Toppmöller, but once again Eintracht, despite their visual superiority, clearly did not pose enough of a goal threat – only four meager goals have been scored so far. Coach Christian Streich’s team at least managed to turn the trend around in a disjointed game after two clear league defeats.
After the international appearances during the week, both coaches had to make small changes. The SGE was missing its captain Sebastian Rode (calf injury), and Fares Chaibi celebrated his starting eleven debut as a replacement for Mario Götze, who had been substituted against FC Aberdeen (2-1). For Freiburg, Yannik Keitel came into the team for the suspended Nicolas Höfler.
Nagelsmann hardly sees any offensive actions
Under the eyes of new national coach Julian Nagelsmann, both teams got off to a good start. After the first attempts at approach by Freiburg’s Ritsu Doan (4th) and Frankfurt’s Fares Chaibi (11th), the level suddenly leveled off. In a largely even game, both teams lacked freshness.
The guests had very little to think about in their own possession of the ball. After the turbulent Europa League success at Olympiakos Piraeus (3:2), the Freiburg defense was particularly challenged, with Kiliann Sildillia coming on at short notice for Manuel Gulde (circulation). However, the sports club rarely had to fear danger.
Because, as has often been the case this season, Frankfurt lacked precision and the ability to get to the goal. Although Eintracht appeared superior, after the upheaval in the summer, the Hessians once again appeared sluggish. The SGE was lucky that Junior Dina Ebimbe was allowed to continue playing despite a serious foul (45th + 2).
A few seconds after the restart, Omar Marmoush had his biggest chance to date against SC goalkeeper Noah Atubolu. Eintracht continued to try in the second half, but their efforts mostly fizzled out around the penalty area. Götze’s substitution initially didn’t change anything.
