Elden Ring: Castle Morne, a new area and information on healing vials

After Miyazaki’s interview in which he admits to loving poison swamps, Game Informer was treated to another extended preview of Elden Ring, and it was devoid of the invisible walls present in the online test. This medium-sized optional dungeon is south of the starting region in Necrolimbo. It’s bigger than the crossover mini-dungeons all over the beta, but smaller than the “Legacy dungeons” that contain the demigods.
- The first interesting element seen in the video is the small golden tree on the way. It has been confirmed that itit is at the feet of these young shoots that it is possible to find the seeds required to improve the vials of tears. Remember that they only fill the vials of estus in Dark Souls, that is to say that they can heal you or regenerate your mana. It takes several seeds quickly to get extra vials, so you’re encouraged to travel around the world to find these saplings.
- Next comes a gigantic archer golem, which is reminiscent of the giant archers of Dark Souls 2 and 3. Attacking the ankles allows it to fall and attack its weak point.
- The dungeon includes a lot of optional fights that can be difficult if you don’t use stealth. In addition to Goderick’s soldiers, chimerical lion-headed and serpent-tailed monsters are found at the scene.
- The castle has several entrances, but you have to go inside to reach an island where the boss of the chimeras awaits you. Quite formidable, he has a great sword obtained on his death. He is stronger than mini-dungeon bosses, but weaker than Margit the Fallen for example.
