While Elden Ring has been out for almost six months, a DLC on the latest FromSoftware game is long overdue by the community. Shardless people around the world are eagerly awaiting an announcement from the company, which would reveal the plot of an upcoming additional content.
As for the potential content of a potential DLC, speculation is rife. Some think of a development of the mysterious Colosseums, in order to be able to carry out PvP and/or PvE fights there; Others mention Miquella’s awakeningor return of the dragon godmentioned several times by Placidusax.
But as the theories fly, a fan named Eugenia Lysa preferred to imagineand the result is simply stunning!
The song of the harpies as inspiration
Eugenia Lysa is a true Elden Ring lore enthusiast. Indeed, the latter, from the feathers of George RR Martin and Hidetaka Miyazaki, is so worked that each character or enemy present in the Underworld has its own story.
If you have ever come across the singing harpies, you know they can be very aggressive, but you may not know their history… These creatures are eaten up with desolation, and sing that they were once blessed, but have been tarnished. They call for golden grace: “Why so much anger?”
A tragic story, which greatly inspired Eugenia Lysa. The latter decided to illustrate in video what could look like an Elden Ring DLC centered around the story of these harpies.
An upcoming Elden Ring DLC
Disclaimer: This is the fruit of the imagination of Eugenia Lysa, who was inspired by the lore of Elden Ring. None of the elements (except the harpies and their singing) depicted in Eugenia Lysa’s DLC story are present in FromSoftware’s game.
The supposed DLC of Eugenia Lysa is based on the song of the harpy, in which it is mentioned the existence of a “motherhood”, which roughly translates to a group of women who are destined to be mothers. At least, this is the interpretation made by the creator of this fan video, which immerses us in the story of the blood ladies.
At the start of this imaginary DLC, the Shatterless cross paths with Nellen, a lost girlwho must absolutely return to his village in order to attend a rite of passage, called “the ordeal of blood”. If she succeeds in the latter, she will be able to join her sister, who is at the castle. The chosen ones are sent there to pass other tests, with the aim of training them and finding the one who can provide the child whose body will welcome the mother. The latter is totally venerated by the blood ladies and followers of this cult.
Unfortunately, not everything went as planned. When the Golden Order learned of the child’s existence -who would have had the power of a god and would have imposed his vision on part of the Underworld- they ended it. Subsequently, Marika cast a curse on the Sanguine Ladies, Mother Worshipers and Cult members, turning them into Harpies.
From now on, their castle but also the village have disappeared, and would be behind one of the mist clouds that appear on the Elden Ring map. A moving story, which makes us want to discover this lost land and meet the harpies before they fell. If only all of this existed…
