Elden Ring won’t make George RR Martin fall behind

Particularly highlighted during the promotion of Elden Ring, the writer George RR Martin, if he is not responsible for the scenario in general, brought his expertise on the background of the game. In particular on the relations between the various great families of this universe in decrepitude and the whole of the events having taken place before the arrival of the player in the history, as it specifies it in an exchange with Stephen Colbert in the frame of his famous Late Show. He also specifies that by working alongside FromSoftware, he was able to realize that the design of a video game could take as much time, or even more, than that of a feature film. A notion of duration at the heart of his thoughts, which prevented him from trying out a game that he nevertheless accompanied for many months.

The reason invoked lies in the real capacity of Elden Ring to create a fascination that makes you want to get lost in it. Fearing a certain addiction, Martin therefore admits, still at Colbert, to have avoided getting into it. Because, by his own admission, he wishes to finish the volume The Winds of Winter from his famous series of novels A Song of Ice and Fire, well aware that the fans have been waiting for it for several years. This former compulsive player from Railroad Tycoon or Homeworld is therefore likely to remain far from all video game entertainment for a good while.
