Trump’s legal fees are escalating

Trump’s lawyers are fighting on multiple fronts. It costs. Money that was actually intended for the election campaign is now apparently to be used to finance legal disputes.
According to media reports, Donald Trump’s election campaign in the race for the Republican presidential candidacy in 2024 could get into financial difficulties due to the allegations and lawsuits against the ex-president. In the first half of the year alone, Trump’s Political Financing Committee (PAC), which Trump uses to pay for his legal disputes, spent around $40.2 million on legal fees, the Washington Post reports. The expenses are also currently the subject of investigations by the US Attorney’s Office due to possible conflicts of interest between Trump and trial witnesses.
His Save America PAC faced such high costs this year that the committee is recalling a $60 million donation it made to another group supporting Trump’s candidacy, writes the New York times”. This points to a possible financial crisis.
A spokesman for Trump’s campaign, Steven Cheung, declined to comment on the reclamation. Referring to the total spending on attorneys, he said, “The gun-equipped Justice Department continues to prosecute innocent Americans because they worked for President Trump and know they don’t have a legitimate case.”
Now, for every dollar Trump raises online for his campaign, ten cents are diverted to the PAC to help fund his litigation, they said “New York Times”. In the beginning, 99 cents went to the campaign.
“Witch Hunt” raises funds
Trump’s campaign did not initially respond to a request for comment. Trump is the first ex-president in history to be indicted by a federal grand jury for withholding classified documents. In addition to these federal lawsuits, he is also facing several state lawsuits in Georgia and New York.
