The first functionality is intended for locating charging stations. Google Maps will rely on AI to precisely indicate the location of a station based on reviews left by other drivers. Thanks to the text directions, electric car users will find these places more easily. For example, Google Maps will specify which exit to take, which signs to follow, etc. To help the rest of the community, the app will ask you for feedback on your experience by indicating the waiting time or the charging power, for example.

Still linked to charging stations, Google Maps will show you nearby stations with their real-time availability and charging power. Useful when you have little battery left or want to recharge your vehicle during a race.

Finally, if you plan several stops during your trip, Google Maps will indicate the charging stations along your route to optimize charging and avoid breakdowns. However, you will need to have an Android Automotive infotainment system to benefit from it, unlike the previous features.
