Electric cars: Allego opens 16 ultra-fast charging stations on the Vinci Autoroutes network

This should delight the statisticians of the Ministry of Transport and Ecological Transition and those of Avere: the Vinci Autoroute motorway network has just inaugurated four new ultra-fast charging stations. These are located in Brouzils and Chavagnes, on either side of the A83, in Nantes, just before Nantes, in Rouillé Pamproux Nord on the A10 just before Niort coming from Paris, and in Toulouse Sud Nord on the A61 from Narbonne.

The installation and management of the four charging stations have been entrusted to the Dutch operator Allego. This is a first for Vinci Autoroute and Allego, established in 16 European countries with 40,000 charging points, all powered by “100% clean renewable energy“.

The terminals, Hypercharger HYC300 (identical to those of the French Electra), were provided by the Italian Alpitronic. Each terminal offers two charging points and the power is 300 kW. In addition, each station has a generic 50 kW terminal with three charging points (CCS, CHAdeMO and Type 2). In total, each of the four hubs offers 11 charging points. Vinci Autoroutes wants to allow each electric vehicle user to recover up to 300 km of autonomy in 10 to 15 minutes.

Each terminal is accompanied by a mini-awning, unlike Fastned which opted for a complete roof (terminal + car), thus protecting against bad weather and the sun. However, no coffee or beverage machines are provided.

As for payment, Allego accepts more than 280 cards (E-MSP) from electric mobility service providers as well as bank cards and payments via the Allego Smoov app. In addition, the Dutch operator will be included in the Ulys pass, Vinci Autoroutes’ own payment solution which also includes electronic toll payment and parking in more than 500 car parks, all from a single account.

If more than 60% of Vinci Autoroutes service areas offer electric charging points, the concessionaire “has set itself the goal of equipping 100% of the areas in its network with more than 1,500 charging points by 2023“.
