- The technology group ABB has appointed the current head of the electrification division, Morten Wierod, as the new CEO.
- Wierod will take office at the beginning of August and succeed Björn Rosengren, who will leave the company at the end of 2024, ABB said.
- Rosengren took over the top job at ABB four years ago, before that he headed the Swedish Sandvik Group.
The designated CEO Wierod has been working at ABB since 1998 and has been part of the management team for around five years. Before the 52-year-old Norwegian took over the electrification department, he headed the drive technology division. The group is now looking for a successor to lead the electrification area.
Wierod is very familiar with ABB’s decentralized business model, has extensive expertise in the most important customer segments and a strong track record, Chairman of the Board of Directors Peter Voser is quoted as saying.
