- The intention of the grid operators to generate winter power reserves for 2024 is driving up the electricity price.
- Using the power grid now costs the average household 146 francs a year.
- Compared to the current year (70 francs), this is more than double.
According to Swissgrid, the reason for the doubling of the transmission tariff is a price increase for the transmission grid and the costs for the winter electricity reserves.
92 francs are now due for the services of the network operator. In 2024, the compensation for the hydropower reserves and the reserve power plants will be added to this increased tariff. That costs the average consumer an additional 54 francs.
Swissgrid explains the strong price increase for the basic service of the transmission grid with the system services. Their tariff will increase next year from 0.46 to 0.75 centimes per kWh. According to the network operator, it expects higher procurement costs for the provision of control power.
In addition, he has to reduce a shortfall, which is due to the sharp rise in electricity prices. The tariff for active losses will also increase from 0.30 to 0.34 centimes per kWh. According to Swissgrid, the reason here is also the sharp increase in procurement construction in the high-price environment.
