The Cattenom nuclear power plant, in Moselle, has been completely shut down since the night of Friday to Saturday, reports the Lorraine Republicana first since its commissioning in 1986.
Of the four units, two have been the subject of an expert appraisal on part of the piping for several weeks. A third had to be shut down in early June for refueling and maintenance activities.
The last reactor had to be shut down overnight from Friday to Saturday for work on a ventilation system.
Ten days without producing electricity
The plant should remain shut down for ten days, according to the daily. But no power outages are expected, as the homes will be powered by other reactors.
