Elisa Pilarski case: what becomes of her dog Curtis three years after her death?

In November 2019, Elisa Pilarski was fatally killed in Retz’s cargo. Pointed as the person responsible for this tragedy, his dog Curtis is still alive, according to an investigation.

It has already been three years since Elisa Pilarski lost her life. In November 2019, the young six-month-pregnant woman was fatally bitten in the forest of Retz, in Aisne, while she was walking her dog Curtis. For months, her relatives insisted that she had been the victim of a pack of dogs, which then participated in a hunt. Over the months and expertise, specialists have pointed the responsibility of Curtis. And a new document confirms the suspicions. As revealed by Oise Hebdo, a veterinarian from Pau examined the bite marks on Elisa Pilarski’s body. According to him, it is certain: they correspond to the fangs of Curtis, the pit bull of his companion, Christophe Ellul.

Since the death of Elisa Pilarski, Curtis is still alive according to the book A Dog, the Curtis-Pilarski affair and was not euthanized as some claimed.. Since the death of the young woman, her dog has been the subject of expertise several times. The animal, which also bit Elisa Pilarski’s companion on the evening of the tragedy, recurred a few days later with a volunteer from the Clara Foundation, the shelter in Beauvais, in the Oise. “He jumped on me in the chest. I push him away, and that’s when he attacks me in the leg and doesn’t want to let go.she told the Parisian. I don’t know how long it lasted. The only thing I remember is screaming and thinking he was gonna kill me. The pain was really intense.”

Elisa Pilarski’s companion has been indicted

According to BFMTV, Curtis “participated in biting dog competitions in the Netherlands, a sporting discipline that involves jumping, obedience and biting exercises”. According to information from TF1, the animal had been adopted in the Netherlands from a breeder who “does not meet the standards of the World Canine Organization which governs competitions and canine breeding”. If Elisa Pilarski’s companion has always claimed that his dog was a cross between a whippet greyhound and a patterdale terrier, “Curtis won several medals during a competition in Belgium Reserve for pit bulls, dogs banned from export in France”. Christophe Ellul has been indicted for manslaughter and could be tried in 2023.
