On the move this Wednesday, June 15, in this department, the Prime Minister who came to defend the candidates of the presidential party was arrested by a woman. “That a man uses his stature as a man of power to obtain favors, does that bother you?”, she asked Elisabeth Borne.
The head of government immediately replied “Of course it bothers me”before specifying: “Wait ma’am, I’m not a judge you know”. An answer that did not satisfy the interlocutor of Elisabeth Borne. “So why is he still here? Why is no one saying anything?simply asked the citizen, very affected by the situation. “I’m sorry but as a woman I don’t feel safe”, added this woman. The moment was captured by BFM TV which broadcast the exchanges between the two women.
Elisabeth Borne returns the Abad case to justice
In front of the assistance and some media Elisabeth Borne wanted to develop this controversial subject. “As Prime Minister, I also say it as a woman, we must allow justice to establish the facts. Do not hesitate to file a complaint”said Elisabeth Borne.
But she tried to recall that her role was to lead a government and not to influence justice. “I am not a judge and investigations are not done with anonymous testimonies. Everything is done to (…) welcome women as well as possible so that they can file a complaint and that justice can establish the facts”said the Prime Minister.
Elisabeth Borne is not the only one to have to report on this case. On June 9, Emmanuel Macron was also arrested by several high school girls during a trip. The Head of State was treated as “liar” and nobody “abominable” by an 18-year-old high school girl, shocked to see the minister still integrated into the government.
