Elisabeth Borne resorts to 49.3 for the ninth time, La France insoumise files a new motion of censure

Elisabeth Borne triggered for the ninth time, Sunday, December 11, article 49.3 of the Constitution to have the “expenditure” part and the entire draft state budget for 2023 adopted without a vote in a new reading before the National Assembly. The deputies La France insoumise (LFI) replied by tabling a new motion of censure.

This is “a budget that we need on time, on the 1ster January 2023 »justified the chief executive. “The authoritarianism of the government has no limit to impose [sa] policy of social and ecological mistreatment. We are tabling a new motion to censure this government”replied in the wake on Twitter Mathilde Panot, boss of the LFI group.

Earlier Sunday, the “revenue” part of the 2023 draft budget was adopted de facto in the Assembly in new reading, after the failure of a motion of censure by the “rebellious”. Unsurprisingly, in view of the refusal of the right to vote for this motion, but also due to the absence of many deputies who left for their constituencies this weekend, this initiative obtained only 78 votes, far from the 289 necessary for bring down the government.
