Elizabeth II: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited the Queen

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle traveled to Windsor Castle on Thursday April 14 to visit Queen Elizabeth II.

The couple made a stopover in the United Kingdom before traveling to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games, a sports competition founded by Harry in 2014 and which brings together wounded soldiers and veterans, learned Agence-France Presse with a spokesperson for the couple.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have moved to California, have not traveled to the UK together since stepping back from the British royal family two and a half years ago.

In early April, a religious ceremony was organized to commemorate the death of Prince Philip, husband of the Queen who died last year, and at which Harry was not present. The tabloid The Sun then accused the grandson of the Duke of Edinburgh of snubbing the event as well as the Monarch.

After the announcement of the absence of the couple at the ceremony, specifies AFP, a spokesperson had affirmed that they hoped to visit soon Elizabeth II, who will celebrate her 96th birthday on April 21 and whose jubilee of platinum, which marks his 70 years of reign, will be celebrated at the beginning of June.
