Days after The Sun’s revelations about Queen Elizabeth II’s concerns and Prince William and his family’s helicopter flights, a close source gave the reasons behind the fear.
December 18, 2021, The Sun revealed Queen Elizabeth II was worried about Prince William’s family and no longer wanted let them take the helicopter together. Indeed, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge regularly travel by helicopter with their three children: George, Charlotte and Louis. A habit that Lady Diana’s son will have to quickly lose so that descendants to the throne no longer take risks all together.
According to the British newspaper, Queen Elizabeth II is “terrified“to the idea that a catastrophe could occur. So much so thatshe wouldn’t sleep at night anymore when the royal family travels by helicopter. Monday, December 27, Daily Mail provided details about this terrible fear. According to a source close to the monarch, the mother of Prince Charles is still haunted by an accident occurred in 1967. “It completely put him off. This is why she is so worried about William and his family.“said the source.
The accident of the captain of the Queen’s Flight had upset Queen Elizabeth II.
The accident which scared the Queen of England was that of Queen’s flight, and dates back to December 1967. At that time, helicopter captain John Blount along with three other members of the squadron were killed while flying in a Westland Whirlwind. The aircraft had crashed near Newbury, west of Berkshire County.
According to investigators, the helicopter had a problem with the gearbox at the time of its crash. If no royals were on board the aircraft, the Queen would have been particularly affected, as her husband Prince Philip had recently piloted the same device. She had been devastated by the tragedy and had refused to go up aboard a helicopter, unless you have no choice.
