A difficult start to the year … On the night of December 31, 2021 to January 1, 2022, the left-back of PSG handball, Elohim Prandi, suffered an assault in the eighth arrondissement of Paris. Stabbed several times, the 23-year-old was admitted to hospital. While various people were present during the attack, witnesses will be heard in the coming hours by the police. In a statement, PSG said: “Elohim Prandi was the victim of a violent assault last night in Paris and suffered several stab wounds. The player is currently under observation at the hospital and his condition does not cause concern.“
After indicating that the Paris Police Prefecture is seized of the investigation, the PSG confided: “The club expresses its indignation in the face of this aggression and gives its full support to Elohim Prandi and his relatives to get through this ordeal.“On social networks, many fans have supported the athlete. We can read:”Courage to him! This aggression is scandalous!“;”Prompt recovery and justice be done!“;”The world is really crazy … Courage to him!” ; but also : “All my support too! And my best wishes for Elohim’s recovery to be swift!“
Will Elohim Prandi be able to participate in the Euro?
This Sunday, January 2, 2022, the French team will meet at the Maison du handball, in Créteil, to resume its preparation.. Called to participate in the preparation of the Euro handball from January 13 to 30, 2022, Elohim Prandi is already forfeited for the competition. The French Federation and coach Guillaume Gille should announce in the coming hours the identity of his replacement. On Twitter, the French Handball Federation declared that it was bringing “all his support to Elohim Prandi and wish him a good recovery.“
