That’s it, the tech press has found its own Booba-Kaaris, with two much less beefy protagonists. Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have had fun warming up on social media for the past few days, even discussing the possibility of facing each other in a fight in Vegas. And of course, it all started with a bun crepage on Twitter.

Responding to a news item evoking Meta’s desire to launch a competitor to Twitter, Elon Musk tweeted: “I’m sure Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options”. The billionaire thus refers to the many services offered by Meta, some of which have copied key features from other social networks. What a user advised him to be careful, Mark Zuckerberg being a follower of Brazilian ju-jitsu, even participating in official competitions.

Response from Elon Musk: “I’m up for a cage match if he is, lol”. In the process, Mark Zuckerberg has publishedin Instagram story, a screenshot of the exchange on Twitter by adding the comment “Send me the address”. The media machine is racing, and The Verge publishes a summary of the case. Again, Musk reacts to the article by tweeting “Vegas Octagon” then, ironically, “I have this amazing technique I call The Walrus (the walrus), where I just lay down on my opponent and do nothing”.

And although the press dreams of feeding the chronicle with many future articles, the possibility of a fight seems very uncertain, Elon Musk having, to our knowledge, no particular training in combat sports. How do you say “toxic masculinity” in English?
