(Boursier.com) — Elon Musk, the boss of You’re here and SpaceX, continues the creator of ChatGPT, OpenAI, and its general director Sam Altman, believing that the company has abandoned its initial mission of developing artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity. This is what the Reuters agency indicates today. According to the action launched yesterday Thursday, Altman and OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman initially approached Musk to design an ‘open source’ and non-profit firm. OpenAI, now supported by Microsoft, would have violated its initial contract, since the company would now be oriented towards generating profit. This desire by OpenAI to make money would violate the initial commitment, Musk’s lawyers said, cited by Reuters, as part of this lawsuit filed in San Francisco. They added that the company had kept complete secrecy around the design of GPT-4, its most advanced AI model…

Recall that Elon Musk co-founded OpenAI in 2015, but then resigned from the board of directors in 2018. Last year, entrepreneur Sam Altman was abruptly fired by the former OpenAI board of directors , who said at the time that he was trying to uphold the company’s mission to develop AI that benefits humanity. A few days later, Altman was reinstated to OpenAI with a new board of directors. OpenAI also plans to appoint several new board members in March, the Washington Post reported yesterday.
