Elon Musk set to temporarily take control of Twitter after takeover completes

Elon Musk could become the general manager of Twitter for a few months if the process of acquiring the social network is completed. This would lead to the departure of Parag Agrawal, the successor to Jack Dorsey at the head of Twitter.

Elon Musk as Twitter boss, this could be a reality soon. If the process of acquisition of the social network by the American billionaire for 44 billion dollars comes to an end, the boss of Tesla and SpaceX should become the temporary general manager of Twitter for a few months, according to sources familiar with the matter quoted by CNBC.

If this is confirmed, it will lead to the departure of Parag Agrawal, who succeeded Jack Dorsey, historic boss of the American company, only last November. “Once the deal is done, we don’t know which way the platform will go”, the Indian-American leader reportedly said when asked if Twitter could allow former US President Donald Trump to return to the platform when Elon Musk officially owns it. As a reminder, Donald Trump was banned from Twitter last year after the attack on the Capitol in Washington on January 6, 2021.

This Thursday, Elon Musk also raised $7 billion more to complete the takeover of Twitter. Among the investors, we find the co-founder of Oracle Larry Ellison, who participated to the tune of 1 billion dollars, the American fund Sequoia Capital (800 million dollars), or even the first global platform for the exchange of Binance cryptocurrencies ($500 million). This sum is in addition to the 2 billion dollars previously obtained by the American billionaire.
