Emanuel-Philibert de Savoie and Clotilde Courau: greeting card with their two princesses

The prince and the actress – who lived a prolific year with three films (Benedetta, The Heroics and Haute couture) and two series (Rebecca, on TF1 and Absente, on France 2) – met for the first time during an evening organized in Monaco by Prince Albert of Monaco. “We were all at the table the night I first saw her. I was sitting next to her and I looked for Johnny Hallyday’s approval in her eyes. He winked at me“, recalled the prince in an interview with Point.

He and Clotilde Courau were married on September 25, 2003 in the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels and the Martyrs, in Rome. They are parents of two daughters, Princesses Vittoria and Luisa (soon to be 18 and 15). The small family lives apart: the prince divides his time between Monaco and Los Angeles, where he has opened a restaurant, and the Princess of Savoy lives in Paris with their two teenagers.

Because of this way of life, Prince Emmanuel-Philibert of Savoy and his wife were the subject of suspicion of separation. The prince responded to it in January 2021. “Our couple is a strong friendship, a bond and a desire for truth. This is all love. (…) Does love mean being together all the time? Love is thinking about each other when you’re far away, and being happy when you’re together. We went through, like all couples, ups and downs. But we managed to find listening and a real dialogue between us. Straight talk. With Clotilde, we tell each other everything“, he explained to the magazine Gala.
