Embarrassing mistake: Samsung employees don’t know their own smartphones

If you’re not careful on Twitter, you’ll quickly put your foot in it. With Samsung, however, it wasn’t a wrong word or an inappropriate like that led to the embarrassing mistake. In fact, some Samsung employees don’t even seem to know their own smartphones.

It doesn’t matter whether it’s from Apple, Samsung or Xiaomi: nowadays all smartphones look the same – that’s a common accusation. This criticism can even be understood when looking at the front, because it is difficult to distinguish an iPhone from a Galaxy when viewed from the front and when it is switched off. The differences are bigger on the back, however, where each manufacturer has its own design signature. All the more amazing when the own employees mistake a competitor’s smartphone for their own.

Exactly this Mishap happened to Samsung employees on Twitter. Samsung Canada responded to a tweet from YouTube star MKBHD, who publicly wondered about the meager scope of delivery on a test device: “Hi Marques, thanks for bringing this to our attention. Please send us a private message with your contact information – our customer service will take care of it.”

A nice answer, one would think. The problem: It wasn’t a Samsung smartphone at all, which the YouTuber was holding. Both the packaging itself and the smartphone clearly show the Sony branding and the model name: Xperia 1 IV, which was recently introduced. Despite this, Samsung Canada employees mistook it for a Samsung smartphone – an embarrassing mistake that caused a good laugh on the internet.

At Samsung itself there are some changes in the house. The industry leader throws down the gauntlet at Apple and wants to have caught up on its performance deficit with processors in 3 years. In the meantime, however, the current world situation is also causing problems for Samsung.
