In 2017, viewers of the show Secret Story met Makao. The father of the family had a very special secret: “I was a bodyguard for the President of the Republic”. This had caught the attention of the public, who wanted to learn more. Thursday July 27, 2023, it’s against Sam Zirah, on his YouTube channel, that Makao made some confidences. After rejoicing at having been able to keep his secret in the reality TV program, he spoke of his experience as the head of state’s bodyguard. During the presidential campaign, he explains that he ensured the safety of Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron. “When people hear me, they think I’m giving praise. I’ve always spoken from my heart,” he started before adding: “And I learned a lot with this gentleman, I learned a lot about the history of France”. Subsequently, Makao referred to the personality of the President, whom he describes as being “a person who is very attentive to others”. However, he assures that he has “a little showman side. Humanly speaking, he always goes out to meet others. He has a bit of his American style policy.”

Being the bodyguard of Emmanuel Macron and his wife was an enriching experience for Makao. The father of the family has good memories of his discussions with the head of state. “Working with the Macron couple, I liked it”, he confided, later specifying that he has completely changed his profession. “But it’s just that I like to be free like a fish in water. The only people I belong to are my parents and my children, otherwise I don’t belong to anyone”, he continued. Now an influencer, Makao explains that notoriety during his time at the Élysée helped him find his way. “Secret Story was a stepping stone in my life, but it’s more my work that brought me back to where I am because even when I worked for the President, I took more selfies than him”he laughed, adding that he was very popular with the French: “When people came, they wanted to see Macron’s bodyguard”.
