It is a traditional meeting before the summer break but, like every item on the presidential agenda in recent days, it is open to all interpretations amid persistent rumors of a reshuffle. For some, the Head of State cannot invite members of the government to a festive meeting to carry out a reshuffle in stride.
A technical redesign remains possible
For others, however, this does not close the door to a technical reorganization, around a few ministers, by the end of the week and the departure of the president in New Caledonia.
Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, whose fate also gave rise to all the speculation, seems on the other hand well destined to stay: a new chief of staff has been appointed at Matignon, Jean-Denis Combrexelle, a specialist in the Labor Code, from after ministerial sources. He replaces Aurélien Rousseau, who should have left office on July 1.
