Streaming service HBO, along with HBO Max, received more Emmy nominations than Netflix this year — 140, to be exact.

The battle of the Emmy nominations is decided in the segment of the big streamers between HBO and Netflix – with the latter looking into the tube. As “Deadline” counted, Netflix has just 105 nominations, while HBO and HBO Max combined have 140. Hulu and Apple also have high nomination numbers, with Hulu standing 58 times for an Emmy, and Apple TV+ 52.

The series with the most nominations

The streaming series with the most nominations is HBO’s “Succession”, which received 25, followed by Apple’s “Ted Lasso” and HBO’s “The White Lotus”, both of which received 20.

Other successful series include “Hacks” (HBO Max) and “Only Murders In The Building” (Hulu), each with 17 nominations. “Euphoria” (HBO) got 16, “Barry” (HBO), “Dopesick” (Hulu), “Severance” (Apple TV+) and “Squid Game” (Netflix) got 14 each.

In contrast to last year, Disney + had to lose some nominations: in 2021 the streaming provider had received 71 Emmy nominations, this year only 34. Amazon received 30 in 2022, Paramount + eleven and Peacock only three.
