(Reuters) – The Unifor union ended a short strike that began Monday morning at Stellantis factories in Canada after reaching an agreement with the auto group on a new employment contract covering more than 8,200 employees.

The union had called a strike at all Stellantis sites in Canada as negotiations on a new agreement appeared to be blocked.

“An agreement in principle has been reached with Stellantis, ending the strike actions (…),” Unifor said in an emailed statement.

Stellantis was not immediately available to comment on the subject.
