You want to have breakfast for two or you want to bake up one or two delicious rolls for yourself? Before the oven is hot enough and you waste energy on two buns, we have two more energy-efficient methods for you.

If only a small amount ends up in the oven, we quickly get annoyed about the waste of electricity and energy. That’s why we usually decide with a heavy heart not to turn on the oven for a single pre-baked roll and instead switch to bread, for example. And rolls from the day before, which are no longer really crisp, are quickly placed on the toaster from both sides. But even if they get crispy on the outside, the inside doesn’t taste as fresh as before. However, you should be able to do this using these methods:

Method 1: The pan

Bake buns in the pan? What did we think of? In fact, according to Merkur.de, this trick should work. All you need is a coated pan with a lid. Put this on the stove and set the plate to medium. Now moisten the rolls with water, briefly test whether the pan has already become hot – put the rolls in, put the lid on and put the plate back on.

The steam that forms from the moistened rolls is intended to ensure that the rolls are warmed up and at the same time become crispy (again) due to the conditions in the pan. The report does not give any indication of how long the rolls should remain in the pan. With old baker’s rolls from the day before, three to five minutes are probably enough. Baked rolls take an estimated eight minutes. It’s best to check your breakfast favorites regularly so they don’t get too crispy.

Method 2: The air fryer

Anyone who already has an air fryer should know that they will probably never have to turn on the oven for their rolls again. You can crisp up rolls according to the packaging instructions for the correct temperature and number of minutes. Most of the time they are even ready faster than in the oven. It is therefore advisable to look into the air fryer about two minutes before the end of the first attempt or to choose a slightly lower temperature. Because the device really heats up the contents. Not that the good buns come out darker than you’d like.

For old rolls from the day before, about three to four minutes at 160 degrees are sufficient. Quick and easy. If you don’t have an air fryer, you can try the first method. By the way: Did you know? According to the portal heissluftfritteusen24.de you can even cook eggs in the hot air fryer. Six minutes at 170 degrees should be enough for this, which is why it is recommended to even warm up rolls and eggs together. We still have to try it out for ourselves how the eggs turn out in the end. It’s an exciting idea nonetheless.
