ENERTIME: ENERTIME OBTAINS EUR 8.5 M IN SUBSIDIES FROM THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION AS PART OF THE HORIZON EUROPE PROGRAM – 2022-01-19 at 18:20

ENERTIME

(FR0011915339 – ALENE), a French “CleanTech” company serving industrial energy efficiency and geothermal energy production, announces that it has been selected as part of the Horizon Europe program (successor to the H2020 program) of the European Commission for two innovation projects related to ORC technology and high-temperature heat pump technology. The total amount of grants for ENERTIME is €8.5 million out of total cumulative funding of €22 million.

Gilles David, CEO of ENERTIME, declares: ”

This double success in the Horizon Europe program of the European Union intended for the development of a new generation of high power ORC and high temperature heat pumps is very strategic for the company. It comes at a time when ENERTIME’s technology is fully recognized in France within the framework of calls for projects on energy efficiency by ADEME. We are particularly proud to have attracted the best research centers and innovative European partners and to have convinced Europe together to award us two projects within the framework of a very well-funded but extremely competitive programme. After France, it is Europe that recognizes the relevance of ORC technologies and Power Heat Pumps for industrial energy efficiency. This recognition validates our international development strategy and will allow us to accelerate vis-à-vis the competition.

This selection concerns on the one hand the DECAGONE project, for which ENERTIME as coordinator ensures the technological and administrative management of a consortium of 16 partners spread over 10 countries; and on the other hand, the PUSH2HEAT project for which ENERTIME is a partner of a consortium of 19 partners spread over 6 countries.

The DECAGONE project will receive grants of up to €14 million, including €7.4 million for ENERTIME and its subsidiary ENERGIE CIRCULAIRE, partner of the Consortium. The objective is to demonstrate the potential of ORC technology for the recovery of waste heat in all sectors of European industry and the interest of the ESCO model in accelerating the diffusion of technology.

The project is centered on the development of an advanced technology of ORC of high power and high temperature using new generation turbines on magnetic bearings, of new design of the exchangers, the development of new organic fluids more powerful and on the use Machine Learning algorithms to improve the efficiency of real-time systems. As part of this project, ENERTIME and its industrial partners will provide an installation of a 2 MW ORC

electric

for a steelworks in the Czech Republic. The consortium led by ENERTIME includes 7 research centers (French, German, Belgian, Norwegian, Greek, Czech and Swiss) including the CEA, the Universities of Liège, Munich, Athens and Geneva and the Norwegian SINTEF and 9 private companies including ENERTIME, its subsidiary ENERGIE CIRCULAIRE and Finnish, Greek, Czech, Slovak, French, Tunisian and German companies. Among these companies, large European and Tunisian industrial groups are represented as potential future customers.

The second project, PUSH2HEAT will receive a total of €8 million in subsidies, including €1.1 million for ENERTIME and its subsidiary ENERGIE CIRCULAIRE. The purpose of the project is to demonstrate in particular the potential of Heat Pump technologies for the production of industrial heat up to 160°C on 4 European industrial sites (Spain, Italy, Belgium and Germany) around 4 different technologies for raising of heat, including a high-power double-stage mechanical compression technology supplied by ENERTIME.

In the same way as the DECAGONE project, this project will demonstrate the interest of the ESCO model in accelerating the diffusion of technology within European industry and will assess the markets and support mechanisms available. ENERTIME will be in charge of the development and supply of a 3 MW Heat Pump

thermal

which will be installed in a paper mill in Italy to produce steam at 140°C for the process from thermal resources at lower temperatures. PUSH2HEAT is led by the Spanish research center TECNALIA and includes 19 partners, private companies and university laboratories from 6 European countries (France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland).

ABOUT ENERTIME

Founded in 2008, ENERTIME designs, develops and implements thermodynamic machines and turbomachines for industrial energy efficiency and decentralized production of renewable energy.

ENERTIME’s ORC machines transform heat into electricity, Heat Pumps produce high temperature heat with lower temperature heat and electricity. Gas expansion turbines recover the energy lost in the gas distribution networks to produce electricity and cooling. On the ORC market, ENERTIME is one of the four main world players and the only French company fully mastering this technology of high-power machines (1 MW and more).

Based in Île-de-France, ENERTIME has 37 employees, including 18 engineers.

ENERTIME is listed on the Euronext Growth market. ISIN: FR0011915339 – Mnemo: ALENE. More information at www.enertime.com.
