Entech: takeover of part of Sabella’s assets

(Boursier.com) — Entech has obtained the agreement of the Quimper commercial court for the takeover of all the employees and part of the assets of Sabella, in receivership since October 22, 2023.

Entech thus takes over Sabella’s 19 employees, including 17 engineers, the intellectual property consisting of 81 patents1 and certain assets ensuring the maintenance of know-how.

Created in 2008, Sabella is an innovative engineering and project management company, one of the major players in the tidal energy sector. With Entech as a partner since 2018, it notably designed and built the first marine tidal turbine connected to the French electricity network, which supplies the island of Ouessant with electricity produced thanks to marine currents. This Ouessant tidal turbine is not part of the activities taken up.

With Sabella, Entech asserts its presence in the Marine Renewable Energy market, strategic for Europe which has the largest maritime space in the world. In addition, thanks to the acquired skills, Entech is expanding its technical teams to accelerate its growth in its current markets, the integrated teams will therefore work on existing Entech projects upon their arrival.
